It beckons with a list of handcrafted beers curated by Berlin Brew’s self-proclaimed “beer sommeliers”, or, as laymen call them, bartenders. Yet, the showstopper remains the floor-to-ceiling bookshelf with surprisingly flattering lights, complete with 4000+ books, and even a fantasy ladder to reach them! Whether you want to have a self-care day or hang out with your friends while silently judging people’s book choices, Berlin Brew certainly makes for one of the most unique craft beer spots in Mumbai!
Berlin Brew – The Beer Library
Said to be India’s first beer library, you can find beers and books of every colour and for every mood. You may catch someone skimming through the pages of Colleen Hoover with the taproom’s signature offering, Hoppy Bliss, a gluten-free pale ale made out of jowar. Perhaps a Murakami reader is sipping a refreshing glass of Hibiscus Peach beer or a robust-tasting IPA, waiting for that bittersweet ending. Or, if you are a manga reader hastily scanning its animated pages, then maybe a coffee orange beer or a gin & tonic beer would be to your taste.
Their beers start at just ₹200/- and come in three size options, 200ml, 300ml, and 500ml. If it is your first visit to this Andheri West microbrewery, go for their much-talked-about Beer Tree
with a choice of any six beers. It is shaped like, you guessed it, a branched tree with beer fruits!
However, after comforting your bookworm soul and tipsy heart, the experience is just incomplete without a few indulging bites. The kitchen at Berlin Brew boasts a plethora of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to pair with your beer. We recommend their juicy dimsums, especially Basil Thai Chicken Dimsums, creamy Mac and Cheese Pasta, and spiced Thecha Paneer Tawa. Remember, no meal is actually done without ending with a sweet treat.
