There are only a few bands across the world that have shaped modern music quite like the Gorillaz. Blurring genres and featuring cutting-edge animation, these virtual kings are officially taking over this spring with their highly anticipated album, The Mountain. Or, as their album cover slyly reads with the music’s ode to India, Parvat. With their ninth studio album set for release on February 27, fans won’t have to wait until then to hear it. Gorillaz are hosting a series of exclusive listening parties around the world, including India, in Mumbai, Goa, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Finally, Indian fans can celebrate their ode with an exclusive first listen.
The Mountain by Gorillaz – Album Listening Parties 2026
It is not just any album launch but a homecoming of sorts. Damon Albarn and his animated troupe, 2D, Murdoc, Noodle, and Russel, recorded much of the album in the Indian cities of Jaipur and Mumbai. For Indian fans, a bolly-noir listening experience awaits as they hear 15-track records (plus secret bonus tracks) in full. Moreover, the album features deep creative connections from the band’s time in India, including features from Asha Bhonsle, Anoushka Shankar, Asha Puthli, Amaan Ali Bandash, and Ayaan Ali Bangash. The accompanying artwork sees a series of intricate and rather maximalist hand-drawn illustrations of circumstances that take the band members across India, immersed in the mystics of music-making.

What can you expect?
The concept of listening parties is simple; there are no DJs or a club night, rather a deeply intimate and curated setting for fans. As the newly recorded songs play for the first time, fans get a chance to connect with Gorillaz up close. Additionally, the entry to these parties is FREE, but capacity is extremely limited; you must RSVP to secure your spot. There will also be select vinyl giveaways and fan reactions. For Indian fans, it is Gorillaz’s love letter to the rhythms and culture that inspired them during their recent travels through Rishikesh and Rajasthan (hence, the name “parvat“)
How to get your tickets to Mumbai and Goa listening parties?
The tickets for the event are FREE. The process of getting the tickets is rather simple, but highly competitive. With the risk of being sold out, head to Gorillaz’s official partner website and RSVP for your slot. Choose your respective region amongst Mumbai, New Delhi, Goa, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, and book your tickets.
For Mumbai, the listening party is happening at Idoru, Khar, on Tuesday, February 24, 5 PM onwards. You can book the sessions in three slots, at 5:30 PM, 7 PM, and 8:30 PM. Get the link to book the tickets here.
For fans who wouldn’t mind travelling down to Goa, or Goa-based fans, the listening party is set to take place in Bonobo, Anjuna, on Tuesday, February 24, 7 PM onwards. There is, however, only one session at 7 PM. Book your tickets here.
