The 90s kids know the nostalgia of Clint Eastwood blasting on the radio on a loop. It was the debut single of the iconic virtual band, Gorillaz, which shaped modern music during the early 2000s. With cutting-edge animation and blends of alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronica. On February 27, the virtual kings released their highly anticipated album, Parvat or The Mountain, paying a homage to their journey in India. Finally, after rumours and lores, India is finally hosting the Gorillaz India tour in January 2027.
Gorillaz India Tour 2027
Created by Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett in 1998, the band features their animated troupe, 2D, Murdok, Noodle, and Russel. Much of the album was recorded in the Indian cities of Jaipur and Mumbai with 15-track records, along with four exclusive bonus tracks. Moreover, the catch of the album is the bolly-noir features that include collaborations with Anoushka Shankar, Dennis Hopper, and Black Thought. Moreover, it also includes features of flautist Ajay Prassanna, legendary Asha Bhonsle and the disco queen Asha Puthli. The hand-drawn illustrations take the audience on the band’s music journey through India.
What to expect?
With the special homage to India in their album, rumours began long back of their potential India tour. Finally, after a handful of shows across the Americas and Europe, Albarn, along with his many Indian collaborators are set to grace the Indian stage with two special shows in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
The anticipated setlist will focus heavily on their ninth studio album, highlighting The Moon Cave, The Mountain ft Anoushka Shankar, Orange County, and The Happy Dictator amongst others. Additionally, the technicolour glory of the Gorillaz concert may also feature their timeless hits such as Feel Good Inc, Rhinestone Eyes, DARE, and On Melancholy Hill. Nevertheless, the stage art featuring the top-to-bottom immersive multimedia artworks of the band members is unlike any other and certainly the highlight of any Gorillaz show.
Tickets and Prices
Given the previous pricing of international acts, the tickets are expected to be priced from ₹2500/- onwards, with VIP tickets reaching ₹10,000 and more. The pre-sale tickets for Mastercard holders will be available exclusively on District from 1 PM IST on April 13, 2026, until 1 PM IST on April 18 2026. Following that, the general tickets for the Gorillaz Mountain Tour will open at 2 PM IST on April 18, 2026.
