Dreaming about taking a seat among the clashing sound, smoke and smell at Newton Food Centre? Or digging into a hearty bowl of Nasi Lemak at Lau Pa Sat or the sizzling fried noodles at Chinatown Complex? Well, to taste all that Singapore has to offer, you do not have to spend thousands of rupees for a five-hour flight, but instead make your way to Sofitel in our very own BKC! Hosting Singapore Savour, a 10-day food festival, it is so contrived to bring Singapore’s food culture to the heart of Mumbai.
When and where is the Singapore food festival?

Hosted in the Pondicherry Cafe at Sofitel Mumbai, BKC, the festival starts on September 12 and ends on September 20, 2025. Between the hours of 7 pm and 11 pm, the elegant dining space of the cafe shall be permeated with dishes carrying tantalising smells and striking presentation, all intended to transport you to the bustling hawker markets found and loved in Singaporean streets.

Curated by Chef Mohamad Shahril Jamarudin, Sous Chef at Fairmont Singapore, the menu celebrates Singapore’s timeless flavours with modern sophistication. Starting with the rich Kambing Soup, made from mutton brewed for hours along with a medley of spices, the menu then travels to Soto Ayam, an Indonesian version of chicken noodle soup carrying hints of lemongrass and lime. Diving into the glorious Singapore Chilli Crab will make a bit of a mess, so make sure to have your sleeves rolled up.
Cutting into the Sambal Stingray wrapped in a banana leaf offers a soft, stringy texture bursting with buttery flavours, while the Hainanese Chicken Rice wafts a divine aroma. Some other dishes present in the menu include Fish Head Curry and beloved desserts like Bubur ChaCha, made with tapioca jelly and sweet potato and Bubur Pulut Hitam, which is essentially a black glutinous rice pudding. The meal in all its deliciousness will conclude with a glass of a gin-based cocktail called the Singapore Sling.

An endeavour made possible with the collaboration of the Singapore Consulate-General- Mr. Cheong Ming Foong, further states, “As we celebrate Singapore’s 60th anniversary of independence alongside six decades of diplomatic relations between Singapore and India, this Food Festival represents more than just a display of Singapore’s culinary heritage; it embodies the cultural bonds that unite our nations. Food has always been a bridge between cultures, and through this Festival, we invite Mumbai to experience the rich tapestry of Singaporean cuisine whilst celebrating the enduring friendship between our two countries. This milestone year makes the Festival particularly meaningful as we look forward to strengthening our ties for generations to come.”
