Now, Mumbai will ketchup with the boisterous fub of smashing, squeezing, squishing and hurling ripe tomatoes at Madh Island on August 2 at La Tomatina Mumbai. It’s Holi-meets-food fights, and the only colour is red.
La Tomatina Mumbai – what to expect
No rotten tomatoes in this saucy shindig organised by Bombae House Party, which scores high on the fun meter. You’ll get tons of the pulpy fruit to toss and chuck at your friends in an outdoor garden. Additionally, foam will be sprayed on revellers, and you can grab water guns to drench each other some more.
While the produce and party songs- EDM, hip hop and Bollywood music by live DJs- will be provided at La Tomatina Festival Mumbai, all you’ve got to bring is a pair of swimming goggles to protect your eyes from tangy tomato splatter and cover your feet in sneakers or closed-toe shoes so you don’t slip and slide on the red hot mess.
Even after all the tomatoes are chucked, stomped on, and pulverised to floor soup, the party will still go on! Guests can clean up at onsite showers, change into their Saturday night best and then dance until midnight.
All that tomato dripping down your face will definitely fire up your appetite, so you’ll be glad to know that a meal is included. Food boxes will be handed out to party-goers, and you’ll also be topped off with unlimited jungle juice to quench your thirst.
