The Pan Asian restaurant chain that has won the hearts of many across the globe is making its way to India. Their first stop? Our good old Mumbai! A household name in the UK, Wagamama has been a beloved spot for digging into a steaming bowl of flavourful ramen or a delish plate of yaki soba. Our colleagues in London often find themselves on a Friday evening in one of its 39 outlets across the city. Swearing by its firecracker curry and its mouth-watering pad Thai, we honestly can’t wait to try out their recommendations!
When and where is Wagamama launching in Mumbai?
Establishing its roots in the iconic Cambata Building in Churchgate, Wagamama will host a new demographic starting July 24, 2025. According to Francisco Neves, Senior VP of Franchise and Partnerships, “India’s deep appreciation for flavour, freshness, and fun made Mumbai the ideal place to begin this exciting journey.”
A peek into their flagship space

Most of their outlets offer long wooden communal tables, often encouraging engagement over bowls of hot pots, gyozas, teppanyaki, and refreshing glasses of soulful cocktails. Their open kitchen plan adds a dash of theatre across the already buzzing atmosphere, accentuated by suspended lamps, cornered booths, high top chairs and meeting elbows with fellow diners.
With 190+ outlets across the globe, one of the reasons people end up at their joints for lunches, post-work hangouts, or weekend dinners is because of their dynamic dining experience. Made fresh to order, the restaurant offers quick service with the kitchen dishing out dishes as prepared. So maybe it is time your office lunches and quick bites after long hours elevate from soggy swiggy orders to express fresh meals.
A glimpse at their menu

With considerable options for plant-based dishes (50% of their menu to be precise!), they are sure to find favour with the Indian audience’s wide dietary preferences. Shitake donburi, grilled chicken ramen, chicken katsu curry, and our colleague’s favourite Firecracker curry (a fiery mix of stir-fried veggies in a delicious in-house chilli sauce served over a dome of rice coming in chicken, prawn, or tofu options) are some of the crowd favourites that we believe would soon apply for Mumbai as well! Further, their bao buns, gyoza dipped in chill-soy sauce, and crispy lotus roots in teriyaki sauce make for an excellent appetiser.

Their drinks menu features a series of fresh juices from classic OJs to blends of healthy pours. For those opting for sobriety, they pour a stunning mix of mocktails from strawberry spritz to saffron picante and cherry blossom lemonade- a few favourites among an extensive list. In addition, alcoholic beverages have been given a brand twist that pairs deliciously well with the meals offered. Think lychee gin and tonic to signature cocktails like pad thai sour, Thai chilli margarita and an elegant lychee blush sangria. Authentic sakes, beers, tea and coffee are available as well.
A product of a joint partnership with India’s leading F&B operators- K Hospitality Corp, their introduction to Mumbai’s public is a part of their expansion plan to scale their presence across India. Knowing Mumbaikars and their love for trying out delicious new restaurants, Wagamama sure promises a satisfied appetite.
