Pioneered in the city of New York, The Architecture & Design Film Festival is soon to arrive in Mumbai bringing spectacular forums of films and stellar projects. Promising screenings, exhibitions, workshops, and special projects among more, this South Asian Premiere of the world’s largest film festival is set to take you on a joyride across the span of three days.
When and where is the AADF?
Spanning an extensive three days in the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, AADF is scheduled to start on January 10 and go on until January 12.
What to expect?
As mentioned, the film festival is set to screen twenty-plus movies all revolving around the thematic instances of architecture and design. This particular collective of cinema offers bold stances on sustainability, global challenges, and differences in perceptions and even blurs the lines between creativity and life itself! Alongside the same, a curated schedule of book readings, workshops, thirty-plus speakers and installations is further organised to allow the audience to establish an interactive relationship with the essence of the festival.
Among the immersive art installations onsite, the audience will also have an opportunity to witness the Chromacosm– the world’s largest colour system! It stems from a collaboration between New York-based architect Suchi Reddy and Asian Paints. This three-dimensional exhibit allows for an intimate experience where viewers can easily navigate its corridors, admiring the colour library which features over 5,300 colours. In an attempt to evoke the dialogue that everyday monotony conceals multitudes that inspire- Mumbaikars are urged to not miss this experience before the exhibit leaves for the Indian Art Fair in Delhi.
