To culminate the essence of the same, art galleries in the city have further elevated this sanctious relationship.
Now, a new year calls for celebration and what better way than to witness the burgeoning of Mumbai’s rich art scene at the 12th edition of Mumbai Gallery Weekend! From stunning exhibitions and profound talk shows to intriguing plays, this art weekend provides a playground to explore independent ideas in a cohesive environment.
When and where is the Mumbai gallery weekend?
From January 9 to January 12, the MGW will visit Mumbai’s many art galleries. You can find their entire schedule of exhibitions on their Instagram page. The long weekend starts from 5 pm on the 9th showcasing the previews for the upcoming days. The MGW then further spans a full three days from 10 am to 8 pm. Famous art galleries hosting the art weekend include 47-A in Khotachiwadi, Art & Charlie in Bandra, Tao Art Gallery in Worli, Method in Kala Ghoda and Akara Contemporary in Colaba among many others.
What should you expect?
MGW offers several workshops and talk shows with people from across continents touching base in the galleries in our city! From panellist’s extensive conversations on titles like The Founding of Hong Kong’s Museums and Cultural Institutions and Once Upon a Time in Bombay to ice sculptures and painting workshops– MGW packs a cultural milieu.
