Hidden among the colonial lanes of Fort stands the iconic black horse statue, a welcoming marker into Mumbai’s most artistic neighbourhood. Here, quirky shops stand against historic buildings, cafes spill over to cobblestone pavements, and the city’s creative expressions come alive. Every February, thousands come together to celebrate creativity in all forms, in the most spectacular way. We know it and love it as the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. In 2026, the festival is back with bigger plans and bolder schedules, with an extensive nine-day schedule. From January 31 to February 8, you can expect a multi-cultural experience that brings together art, music, dance, comedy, street performances, and workshops. All set against the backdrop of South Mumbai’s historic lanes, a reminder of how much the city has evolved through the years.
And, the best part is that it continues to be free of charge and accessible to all.
