Mumbai’s nightlife is just like the city’s streets – vibrant, diverse and never short of a dull moment. A lot of the clubs here scream sophistication and grandeur, so naturally they attract some of Bollywood’s biggest stars when the weekend comes around. Whether you want to mingle with the A-listers or simply boogie the night away with your friends, party people can expect a crazy night out in the City of Dreams. And while there are plenty of snazzy nightclubs in Mumbai, there are as many brilliant brunch spots and coffee shops to visit when you need to nurse that hangover the morning after.
1. Bombay Cocktail Bar
Bombay Cocktail Bar is a high-end bar that turns up the music and turns down the lights after nightfall. Like most nightclubs in Mumbai, this place is obsessed with Bollywood music, and DJs fill the dance floor with bangers from some of your favourite films every weekend. They’ve gone all out to create a premium space fitted with green velvet couches, shiny tiles and grand archways inside the multi-story venue. A chic setting like this requires guests to look just as good, so make sure you get all dressed up before heading here.

On Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, party seekers dress in their finest fits to dance to hip-hop and R&B tunes until the early hours of the morning. Before you call it a night, make sure you take a snap with the famous teddy bear mascot known as ‘Frank the Bear’. He’s the face of the club and loves to boogie with his party-loving guests.

By day, The Daily All Day is a trendy neighbourhood bar. By night, the place transforms into one of the fanciest nightclubs in Mumbai and shuts its doors way past midnight. Their cocktails are unbeatable, and the cranberry chamomile tea, basil and gin concoction that goes by the name ‘Shimmer Ball’ is the perfect tipple to loosen up before you bust a move or two on the dance floor.

Kitted out with grand crystal chandeliers, leather sofas and gorgeous black and gold decor, Matahaari’s interior is inspired by the extravagant style of Mata Hari, an exotic Dutch dancer who was accused of espionage during WW1. The club tends to play Bollywood bangers and is spread out across several areas, but the VIP section is naturally the most impressive. Hidden behind a bookshelf, the luxurious space is fitted with a private bar and can be rented out if you book in advance.

The popular bar chain, Lord of the Drinks hosts some of the city’s most vibrant parties with equally stunning drinks ranging from a classic Manhattan to their loaded LIITs.
