Mumbai’s very own Late Checkout is hosting Singapore’s Sago House for an exclusive two-night-only bar takeover. Though adorned with international awards- resting at rank 15 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024(!)- Sago House is often equated to a humble dive bar. However, what lacks in infrastructure is made up for by its stupendous drinks menu, that are subject to daily change. And this month, they are bringing their ever-changing cocktail catalogue to our good old Mumbai.
When and where is the Sago House bar takeover?
Happening on October 29 and 30, this exclusive bar takeover will be hosted at Late Checkout. Post hosting global icons like Barcelona’s Paradiso and Singapore’s Origin, the bar is rounding up its hot streak with a local loved joint that is doused with international recognition.
What can you expect?
Nazri Bin Zurmi (Naz) and Khoo Heng Chun (Chun) from Sago House will be arriving from Singapore to work the Late Checkout’s bar this month. Following a rotating menu back home, the team will adhere to the same creative philosophy in Mumbai; thus, the drinks menu remains a well-kept secret. However, to keep loyal patrons happy, the bar has six cocktails that set up strong foundations over which the ever-evolving drinks reside. One of the attested drinks called Move Like Jaggery balances a blend of tequila, amaro, sherry and payasam sourced at the local market.
