Calling out all the nerds (we mean it as a compliment, promise)! All things literature is how the author herself can culminate and categorise a good chunk of her life. And now that the 7th edition of the Spoken Fest that symbolises just that is all set to grace the city, you know where to find her. Bringing a bucketload of activities your way, Spoken Fest facilitates the art of storytelling through various engaging workshops, experiences and spectacular spoken poetry performances.
When and where is the Spoken Fest?
Held at the Jio World Garden, BKC, on February 1 and 2, Spoken Fest brings a world saturated with music, poetry, films and intriguing panels. The setting is usually adorned with equal parts workshops, performances and discussions all taking place against the gorgeous backdrop of bright colours and all things summer. Imagine a patchwork-crafted stage, a colourful amalgamation of stalls, and so much more.
Tickets for the same start at INR 999 and can buy them here.
What to expect?
A two-day affair, this festival culminates a surplus of seventy artists, with 3 stages dedicated to different experiences offered. Experience spoken performances by radical voices of this generation, musical acts, interesting panel discussions and workshops meant to keep you busy throughout.
Dive into immersive art sessions, exchange stories at book swap libraries, and experience the magic of poetry apothecaries prescribing verses for all your woes! You can further test the don’t judge a book by its cover mantra with blind book dates, or marvel at buskers crafting poetry on the spot. Add storytelling sessions paired with soulful songs, and you have what we like to call a wholesome weekend (you know how much we champion that!).
Spoken Fest this year has opened its doors to big-name artists like Gulzar, Shankar Mahadevan, Aadar Malik, Ankur Tewari, Ankita Shah, Shrishti Srivastava and so many more. You can find a full list of artists gracing the festival here.
