Ever since its inauguration in 1986 in London, the play has been witnessed by over 160 million people across 195 cities. It has further been translated into 21 languages! After decades of worldwide success, the play has finally pulled its wagon to Mumbai.
The Phantom of the Opera- a beloved musical experience
The play pivots around a young soprano Christine Daaé, who becomes the centre of obsession of a masked man called the Phantom who lives beneath the Paris Opera House. Based on a novel called Le Fantôme de L’Opéra i.e. The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, the musical adapts the themes of love, passion and upending madness.
How long would The Phantom of the Opera run in Mumbai?
With its debut on March 5, the musical is set to run until the end of the month on March 30, 2025. With a running time of two hours and thirty minutes, the play also offers a twenty-minute intermission. You can catch the show every day at 2 pm IST or 7:30 pm IST at Mumbai’s NMACC.
