The world doesn’t fully understand what it means to be a woman; we are not just talking about the tired narratives of patriarchal. Rather, we are talking about what the world doesn’t discuss enough. We are talking about the genuine delight in being a woman, the strength, the resilience, the whimsy, the aesthetics, the charm, the rage, the elegance, the weird, and the sheer charisma of girlhood and girlfriends. This Sunday, March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating womanhood and the main characters. And so is Mumbai, from brunches to cocktails with a view, here is our very own curated list of things to do this International Women’s Day.
Singout With Your Girls At SOCIAL across town

Remember all those talks of a perfect party without men? SOCIAL is making it come true. With a special Women’s Day plan, the She-nanigans Night is bringing a women-only party. With free drinks for that pure boss babe energy and karaoke blasting feminist anthems, it’s the club washroom vibe brought onto the dance floor. Moreover, enter any SOCIAL across town, and you, my girl, will be treated like the queen you are.

Attend Green Co-op Women’s Day edit
Head to the weekend Green Co-op Market “Women’s Day Edit” where everything is set up by women, for women, and of women. The two-day flare brings you a women-led market with pop-ups from women-led businesses across fashion, beauty, home decor, and lifestyle. Moreover, you can engage in DIY candle-making and perfume blending workshops, learn Salsa, and taste homemade mocktails. There will also be live entertainment and panel discussions on modern womanhood, including self-discovery, resilience, and on balancing ambition and wellness.
Immerse yourself in an evening of the powerful Women’s Trilogy production of KARN

This Women’s Day, NCPA Experimental Theatre is bringing you the tragedy of Karn, a seminal character from the Mahabharata. However, the catch is the portrayal of characters by three female actors. Further, the narration is infused with indigenous folk arts such as Mayurbhanj Chau, a martial art form of Thang-Ta from Manipur, and the ancient Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu. In this magnanimous portrayal of Karn, he emerges as a prism which refracts the complexities of mankind.
